The ASCE Jacksonville Branch hosted its 4th Annual West Point Bridge Design Competition on Friday, May 18th at the UNF School of Engineering computer lab. The West Point Bridge Designer is free software that allows students to design and test virtual truss bridges. The winning bridge has the lowest cost while also supporting the design load. The contest consisted of 16 middle and high school students who competed in teams of one or two. First place for middle school went to Kyle Kelly and Marshall Hettinger of Lake Asbury Junior High School and first place for high school went to Corey Van Dorn of Orange Park High School.
