ASCE Jacksonville Branch and FES Northeast Florida Chapter are hosting
review sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays between 9/12 and 10/17.

Topics to be covered include:

Soils and Foundations
Structures – Steel, Concrete, and General
Water Quality and Distribution
Wastewater, BOD, and Sewage
Hydrology, Hydraulics, and Open Channel Flow
Horizontal and Vertical Curves
Transportation Engineering

Registration forms must be completed and sent to Danny Waltermyer at dwaltermyer@cwieng.com by September 9th.

Payment ($250) must be received by the first class on September 12th.

Project Manager/Senior Engineer Job Opening!

We are seeking someone with experience in the environmental field including: site investigation and remediation, hazardous waste, wastewater, and water resources. Position will plan, design, direct and/or implement a variety of environmental remediation projects, as well as develop new business in the area. Other projects may include SW/W/WW, solid and hazardous waste management, and pollution prevention. Knowledge of RCRA, CERCLA, CWA, MMRP, and other environmental legislation desirable. Federal government environmental contracting programs experience preferred. This position will also mentor and develop junior level staff.

At a minimum, we require a BS in Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, with at least 10 years’ experience.

Job Description
STV currently has an opening in our Jacksonville, FL office for a Civil Engineer in our Transportation & Infrastructure division. Key responsibilities will include all aspects of highway design including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, alternative analysis/design, temporary traffic control, quantity calculations, and plan production.

Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering with between 4-10 years of transportation engineering experience. This individual will be required to have a Professional Engineering License in FL or within one year of obtaining their license. The ideal candidate should have basic knowledge of roadway design and FDOT standards and procedures. Experience with Microstation and Geopak is required. Basic knowledge of stormwater drainage design and related software (ASAD, ICPR) is preferred but not required.

Jacksonville Engineering Societies Together – May Social – Beach Cleanup and Lemon Bar – May 30th

This month’s social is philanthropic in nature… but also includes a bar so we are ok. JEST will be meeting at the beach near Lemon Bar for a beach cleanup followed by a visit to the Lemon Bar itself. Please feel free to bring family and friends. Gloves, trash bags, water, and some shade will all be provided.
