VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES

 

Come out with ASCE Jax Branch on Saturday, May 18th as we volunteer with Habijax to build homes for the community! Work begins at 8:00am and ends around 3:00pm with time included for a lunch break (lunch is not provided). Tasks can vary but may include installing house wrap and windows, painting, landscaping, laying sod, or working on any finishing touches. No prior experience is necessary, but plan to bring your own water and wear closed toe shoes. ANNUAL/SPECIAL EVENTS

ASCE Annual Top Golf Fundraiser: Coordinate the annual fundraiser for ASCE Jax Branch to promote networking, student leadership, and civil engineering. Work with ASCE Jax Branch and ASCE UNF Student Branch. Tasks include preparing competition rules and guidelines, fundraising, coordinating venue, and preparing flyers.  To learn more, contact president@jaxasce.com.

 

COMMITTEES

K-12 Outreach Committee: Work closely with local K-12 schools for classroom visits, career day events, and science fairs. Advertise outreach events to members. Write summary articles after the events to be published on the Branch’s Newsletter. Contact president@Jaxasce.com

Public Involvement Committee: Work with non-profit/volunteer organizations to create opportunities to give back and grow the community. Past events have included Habijax, Feeding North East Florida food drives, and Beach Cleanups (5-6 events per year). LIAISONS

Members who are also involved in other professional organizations are encouraged to serve as liaisons and share upcoming events or volunteering opportunities with ASCE JAX.
