HABIJAX VOLUNTEERING EVENT
On Saturday, October 7th, ASCE has an opportunity to volunteer with Habijax on one of their local construction projects. The event will start at 7:30am and end around 2:30pm with time included for a lunch break (lunch is not provided). Tasks can vary but may include installing house wrap and windows, painting, landscaping, laying sod, cleaning, or building cabinets. No prior experience is necessary. Please see the registration and sign-up process below if you are interested in coming out to help build homes for the community!

STEP 1: Have you volunteered with HabiJax before?
- If No, click the box “Register for an Opportunity” and create a profile
- If Yes, click the box “Sign in” and enter your account information
STEP 2: Once signed in or registered in the system, you will need to
- Click “Register for an Upcoming Event”
STEP 3: Assign yourself to the construction build date
- “Box: Step 1: Select a Volunteer or Group”: Select your name from the drop-down menu
- “Box: Step 2: Select Your Reserved Event(s) Below”: Select the event listed
- “Box: Step 3: Click here to choose time slot(s) and register for this event”: Click on the green box that pops up and select the construction date (Saturday, October 7th)
You will receive an email confirming your registration with additional information about the event. The location of the construction site will be sent out the day before.

ANNUAL/SPECIAL EVENTS
ASCE Annual Top Golf Fundraiser: Coordinate the annual fundraiser for ASCE Jax Branch to promote networking, student leadership, and civil engineering. Work with ASCE Jax Branch and ASCE UNF Student Branch. Tasks include preparing competition rules and guidelines, fundraising, coordinating venue, and preparing flyers. COMMITTEES
K-12 Outreach Committee: Work closely with local K-12 schools for classroom visits, career day events, and science fairs. Advertise outreach events to members. Write summary articles after the events to be published on the Branch’s Newsletter. Contact president@Jaxasce.com
Public Involvement Committee: Work with non-profit/volunteer organizations to create opportunities to give back and grow the community. Past events have included Habijax, Feeding North East Florida food drives, and Beach Cleanups (5-6 events per year). LIAISONS
Members who are also involved in other professional organizations are encouraged to serve as liaisons and share upcoming events or volunteering opportunities with ASCE JAX.
