As we continue to invest in the growth of our transportation design services throughout Florida, we are seeking an experienced Transportation Design Practice Lead who is excited to leverage their relationships, expertise, and vision to expand Benesch’s existing transportation presence while supporting a broad range of transportation services, including roadway design, transportation planning, traffic engineering, PD&E, hydraulics, and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
In this role, you will shape the next chapter of our Florida Transportation Design practice by influencing strategy, developing future leaders, and strengthening and expanding relationships with transportation agencies, including FDOT Districts 1, 2, 5, and 7, as well as key county and municipal partners across Florida. Approximately 60% of the time will be spent on business development, client engagement, strategic pursuits, and market growth, with the remaining 40% dedicated to people leadership, project oversight, team development, and technical guidance. Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and support the design of transportation projects, including highways, streets, intersections, and pedestrian facilities
• Perform field investigations and collect data for roadway assessments, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) reviews, and other transportation-related analyses

What We’re Looking For:

• Proficiency with industry-standard design software such as OpenRoads Designer, Microstation, AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, or similar
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Experience and familiarity with the procurement process for FDOT projects
• Proficient in MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

The base salary range for this position is $115,00.00 to $150,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

About the Role
- We are seeking a Structural Inspector with strong experience in reinforcing steel (rebar) inspection and concrete construction observation/testing.
- Experience in structural steel inspection is a plus.
- The ideal candidate understands ACI and ASTM standards, can read structural drawings, and can accurately document field conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections of reinforcing steel: size, spacing, laps, clearances, couplers, supports, and compliance with ACI and project specifications.
- Conduct concrete construction inspections: formwork, embeds, pre-pour conditions, placement monitoring, consolidation, curing, and protection.
- Document site observations with clear daily reports and communicate findings to contractors and engineers.
- Inspect structural steel elements when required (bolting, welding observation, member verification).
Qualifications

- 2 – 5 years of inspection experience.
